Some of the most difficult and challenging problems in industry and commerce are associated with software development. The Institute For Advanced Studies In Software Engineering, Toronto aims to produce graduates who will be ready to take up this challenge in industry and commerce as well qualified software engineers.This will be achieved by providing students who are already familiar with the fundamental principles of computer science with advanced knowledge of the latest methods and tools for software engineering.

Successful students will be able to choose and follow an approach to software production that delivers the optimum result in terms of cost, time and software quality. Such ability is considered to be the hallmark of a professional software engineer.

 

  • to introduce state-of-the-art concepts in software engineering and show the link between ICT implementation and people issues
  • to develop software engineering professionals who are not only able to understand and design complex evolving systems but are also able to integrate them into industry and the business environment
  • to apply a systematic application of scientific knowledge in creating and building cost effective software solutions to business and other types of problems.
